Driving change both, within and outside the firm

Our Team

At Asia Securities, we believe that diverse perspectives are imperative to tackle the challenges of today's complex financial world. We are determined to be the best team-one that is not just inclusive of differing perspectives, backgrounds and experiences, but also one that represents the increasingly diverse markets and clients that we serve.

One of the biggest deterrents to diversity and inclusion in the workplace is unconscious bias. In recognition of this, Asia Securities delivers programmes to help employees recognise and mitigate unconscious bias in the workplace. In addition, the firm is actively reviewing its talent and management practices, as well as employment policies to minimize the potential for bias and foster diversity.

Our Community

We are focused on supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion inside and outside the firm. Our partnership with Room to Read, a global non-profit organisation that is active in Sri Lanka, is one such initiative. Room to Read's Girls' Education programme is focused on transforming the lives of young girls in low-income communities by investing in literacy and gender equality.

Given that women remain disproportionately excluded from the formal financial system, Asia Securities is actively looking to supporting Room to Read's financial literacy-related efforts through DhanaMaga, our very own Financial Literacy Initiative, as well as through mentoring programmes.

An inclusive and equitable workplace culture

Gagani Jayawardane, Assistant Vice President, Equities, Asia Securities

Investment advisory is often perceived to be a male-dominated industry where women find it hard to succeed. However, my experience with Asia Securities has been different. The firm has offered me an equal playing field by creating a workplace that supports both working mothers and fathers with flexible work arrangements
